Michael A. Leon is a senior litigation attorney with more than two decades of experience representing corporations, executives, and shareholders in complex commercial disputes, regulatory matters, and high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts across the United States.
Mr. Leon has led and defended matters involving corporate governance, securities disputes, fiduciary duty claims, trade secret litigation, bankruptcy-related litigation, and complex business restructuring. His experience includes representing public and private companies, boards of directors, senior executives, private equity funds, and institutional stakeholders in matters involving regulatory scrutiny, internal disputes, and financially distressed entities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Leon has served as lead trial counsel in arbitration and litigation proceedings, conducted hundreds of depositions, and managed large, multi-disciplinary legal teams. He has handled matters arising under federal and state law, including proceedings involving the SEC, DOJ-related issues, shareholder disputes, and corporate investigations. His background also includes representing parties in disputes involving mergers and acquisitions, debt restructurings, stock redemptions, and valuation.
Prior to joining Oberheiden P.C., Mr. Leon practiced at prominent litigation firms in New York and Delaware, where he handled complex corporate and commercial litigation matters in the Delaware Court of Chancery and other leading forums. He has also represented clients in high-profile corporate transactions, significant asset recoveries, and cross-border business disputes.
Mr. Leon earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law, where he graduated in the top one percent of his class, served as a Senior Editor of the Hofstra Law Review, and received multiple academic honors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University, where he studied Philosophy, Politics, and Law.
He is admitted to practice in New York, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, as well as multiple U.S. District Courts. Mr. Leon has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who and Super Lawyers for his litigation work and professional achievements.
